Honey Bee Pests, Diseases, and Treatment


At the SCBA meeting last night (August 8, 2013) Nancy Ruppert, NC State Inspector talked about honey bee pests, diseases, and treatment. For additional information, she mentioned several references that could help us take better care of honey bees. Below are those references in case you would like to get them.

January Beekeeping Class


The Stanly County Beekeepers are holding a Beekeepers’ Class beginning January 28th, 2013 at the Stanly Co. Agri Civic Center, 26032-B Newt Road, Albemarle, NC 28001 at Hwy 24/27 in Albemarle, NC.

Classes will be held every Monday, from 7pm to 9pm for six weeks. Fee is $15.00 per person and includes beekeeping book as well as instructor fees.
